Viva Las Vegas!

Vegas Birthday Cake!

Hand-painted playing cards

Roulette Wheel Top of Cake

Hand-painted casino chips

Vegas Skyline highlighting the Bellagio and Eiffel Tower

"Vegas" sign for the birthday girl, Judy

Fondant Dice

This cake was a blast to make.  There is so much going on, just like in Vegas, there is a party at every angle!  Starting in the front, the show steeler is the Vegas Welcome sign that welcomes guests to this special event, Judy's 50th Birthday Celebration!  Judy is a regular visitor of Las Vegas and to capture her love of the "oasis in the desert", we included much of what Vegas is famous for...CASINO's!!

The top of the cake resembles a roulette wheel and what would Vegas be without dice, poker chips (of every color), and playing cards!?  This cake is loaded with all that and more!  We also had to throw in the Lucky 7's you would be lucky to hit while playing there famous slot machines.  A special request from her family was to include the skyline of vegas.....and what would that be without highlighting some of their amazing concrete and steel structures of wonder.  The Eiffel tower was added to bring that "worldly" feel that Vegas now has along with the master of fountains, the Bellagio.  Absolutely Stunning!!  We hope Judy's birthday was as much fun as it was to make this special cake for her!!

Victorian Cake Pops for Easter

When I was thinking of creating an elegant cake pop for Easter, I thought Victorian!  These scrumptious treats are made from blueberry cake and cream cheese frosting.  The blueberry cake inspired the violet color candy coating, and the simple white floral decorations made of fondant add the perfect Victorian touch.

Shower Cake for Baby "G"

This week was a special one.  I celebrated, alongside my coworkers, the soon-to-be arrival of a brand new baby girl.  Baby Georgia will make her appearance this June and we are so excited to meet her!  The shower cake was designed to be a literal interpretation of a "shower".  With the rain falling down, and puddles of water collecting on the ground, this precious little ladybug is taking shelter under her gerber daisy (the umbrella).  The fresh, spring colors were bright and cheerful, just like this wonderful occasion.   Congratulations to you A.P. and your wonderful family!

A Country Love Story

I am honored to introduce to you a beautiful couple who share a love of friends, family, and wide open spaces of the most majestic countryside.  I was thrilled to be asked to design bridal shower cupcakes that would be a surprise for this lovely lady from her family.

The bridal shower was held at a gorgeous, quaint restaurant in a beautiful country town making the setting for this special occasion simply divine!  The Cafe Company of Owensville, MO is a stunning venue with Italian countryside touches that add a distinct warmth and coziness......perfect for bridal shower receptions.

The cupcakes were created around the color scheme of this couples' wedding, deep royal purples and delicious buttery yellows.  White was the accent color used while the rich, deep purple represented the dominating color throughout the fondant decorations and paper wrappers enveloping each cupcake creation.

Showing her prize cattle is a passion for this country bride and so a design incorporating her elegant yet playful cowgirl side was a must!  ...hence the cowgirl boot embossed with an intricate scroll design overlay on the boot shaft.  To add another layer of sophistication, a small, white lily (her favorite flower) was incorporated next to the boot.  The second cupcake design included an elegant monogram "W" with a delicate flower motif in white fondant.  The deep purple disk of fondant forming the base of this monogram was embossed to give this a rustic or imperfect feel, adding a touch of country and whimsy.  Surrounding the disk is a dainty white flower with warm, buttery yellow edible pearls. So Heavenly!

For the flavors of these cupcakes we incorporated the brides favorite......rich, red velvet cake with delicious cream cheese frosting.  A fantastic combination for an amazing bride-to-be!  Congratulations Whitney and Shawn on your upcoming wedding!

A Garden Tea Party

This sweet confection was made for a wonderful lady's tea party.  Lady "S" LOVES red and yellow flowers and asked that the cake incorporate those.  She also wanted a design that would easily fit into a garden theme.....hence the terracotta flower pot!  I love terracotta pots full of beautiful blooms in the spring and all through the summer and thought this would add a lovely touch.  After the flowers were placed, I thought it needed a few whimsical touches.  This led me to add the sweet little fondant bumble bee and decoratively painted cake stand.  It was a joy to make this cute little cake and I hope it brings a smile to all the guests at the tea party!

I love spring anywhere, but if I could choose I would always greet it in a garden. ~Ruth Stout
